"PLAYING UP" Policy

The PYLAX (Pittsburgh Youth Lacrosse) program is a community-based developmental lacrosse program.  PYLAX does not support any boy or girl to "play up".  The only exception to this rule would be if the individual PYLAX Program Directors decide they need multiple players in a certain age group to play up in order to be able to field one team in an age group, but not at the detriment of the lower age group.  The PYLAX Program Directors would then bring their request to the PYLAX Board for review.  A process as determined by the Program Director and approved by the PYLAX Board, will be utilized to identify the players who will move for the benefit of all teams involved.

Additionally, PYLAX does not allow a player to “play down” from their age group.
